Hi y'all! This is Osman, your Vice President of Careers for the semester of Spring 2020. Previously, I served as VP of Operations and VP of Mentorship and I'm excited for this semester as it's my last at SJSU! I just finished a seven month internship as a Recruiting Intern at Albin Engineering Services, and I'll be working as a Sales Recruiting Intern at Nutanix this semester. Hello SHRM family! I originally joined this club because of the authentic and professional culture that was created by the Fall 19' officers. As a Spring 20' officer, I am excited to further enhance the mission of the organization and give Spartans the opportunity to immerse into our community. My goal this semester is to learn how we can best serve our members through data analytics. More about me, I'm a third year transfer student from De Anza College. I major in MIS, my favorite food is Sushi, I like long walks on the beach, and I'm an aspiring data analyst. Hello! I’m Sam, and this is my final semester studying Business Administration, HR. My “Communications” position in short is public relations, as I will be leading our social media and branding. While my major is HR, I have many artistic outlets like in dance, music production, and photography. I’m excited to serve in my role this semester and meet you all! Hi everyone! Happy spring! This is my 5th semester with SHRM at SJSU (started spring ‘18) and my 3rd semester as an officer (past positions: Careers and Affairs). I’m a transfer student from De Anza and I was originally a Psychology/Child Development major. I’m very excited to lead the Mentorship program this semester with a focus on bringing back SJSU alumni as mentors and boosting mentees’ confidence. I work on campus at the Career Center - swing by anytime! I have over 7 years of work experience in various industries - feel free to ask me anything. Some fun facts: I’m a huge fangirl and I love working with kids!
Welcome! I am extremely excited to jump on board this semester as an officer. As it is for many people, HR has been an acquired taste for me, as it wasn’t the area of work that I thought I’d be pursuing. However, after learning about the various disciplines such as Diversity & Inclusion and Employee Relations that resonated deeply with my values, I realized that this was the right path for me. When I transferred to SJSU, I knew I wanted to be a part of a professional business organization to grow my network and develop into a better version of myself. SHRM has helped me do exactly that and more. After attending almost all the events and being a part of the buddy program in the Fall 2019 semester, I was motivated to join SHRM’s leadership team. My goal is to help enhance the Spring 2020 semester as much as possible so members get more involved and get the most out of our organization. Hello Everyone! I’m Brian and I will be your VP of Operations this Spring semester. I’m currently a senior majoring in HR. I recently joined SHRM last semester not having any professional knowledge at all—lacking interview skills, business etiquette, and having an unclear resume. But after every event I attended, I gained more confidence and insight into the professional world. I am grateful for the career direction, support, and friendships I have made by being a part of SHRM. Hey everyone! I chose to be in SHRM as an officer for another semester because I loved giving back to SHRM in what it has done for me. It’s all about what we can do for you! I chose HR because I found out I had a passion for helping others grow professionally and loved how more and more companies are going through the path of having inclusive environments for all. I want to be a part of the movement because it’s what I truly believe in. My goal is to land another internship for the summer. Hello everybody, my name is Nick and I am proud to serve as a SHRM officer during my final semester at SJSU! Although I am not studying HR, being a part of this club has allowed me to network and enhance my professional skills in more ways than I ever imagined. Being a member of SHRM last semester was such an amazing experience that I wanted to serve as an officer and give back to the organization that has already given me so much. After college, I plan on pursuing a career in CORPORATE finance. Outside of school/work, my interests are watching sports, working out, and playing golf.
