Mentorship Program Guidelines
Purpose of SHRM at SJSU’s Mentorship Program is to Provide Opportunities for Students to:
Explore the world of work through interaction with professionals in various facets of HR
Gain an experienced HR practitioner's perspective on applying textbook concepts to real-life situations
Understand the corporate environment, policies and procedures
Identify long-term professional development needs
Benefit from the value of networking
Develop meaningful professional relationships
Mentor Eligibility and Requirements:
1+ years of experience in an HR related field
Ability to meet with your mentee at least twice during the program duration
Mentor must make initial contact with mentee within one week of assignment
Mentee Eligibility and Requirements:
Current SHRM at SJSU Member
Ability to meet with your mentor at least twice during the program duration
Mentee is responsible for managing communications and coordinating meetings
Program Duration: Six weeks
